This tour is a must in Istanbul . You will begin the day with the Hagia Sophia, the “Church of Divine Wisdom”. Next, while you listen to the stories of the liaison of Kaiser Wilhelm II with the Orient, you will discover the German Fountain, a gift of the Kaiser to the Ottoman Empire. Afterwards, we continue our walk on the Hippodrome where the chariot races were organized in Roman and Byzantine times. The Blue Mosque, only mosque with six minarets, and its surroundings will be our last stop.
In the afternoon, we will start our tour with the visit of the Topkapi Museum, the most important museum of Turkey : it is an incomparably rich treasure-chest, brimming with objects of historical importance. In the courtyards are the Audience Hall, the High Court “Divan”, the kitchens, royal stables, the treasury, gardens, kiosks. When leaving this “town in town”, we will pass from the Hagia Irini church (not visited) and proceed to the Covered bazaar for a demonstration of Turkish handicrafts.
